Camille Desmoulins (1760-1794) was a politician and writer, arguably the best known journalist of the French Revolution. Initially aligned with Robespierre, in 1793, Desmoulins began to criticise the growing radicalism and excesses of the Terror. He was eventually arrested and executed alongside Georges Danton.
