Demi Lovato's ex-fiancé Max Ehrich took to social media to set the record straight that he didn't have a "meltdown" over the singer's recent engagement.

The former Young and the Restless actor took to Instagram Wednesday evening to shut down any rumors that he was unhappy over the news of Demi's recent engagement to Jordan 'Jutes' Lutes. The actor's post came after an account posted a fake image of the star in tears over the news and begging for her back, something that he says couldn't be further from the truth.

The 32-year-old actor posted a screenshot of a notes app message to clear the air that read: "I am aware of the fake pages that were created to post fabricated and cruel messages about a truly joyful occasion in Demi's life, a moment that should only be celebrated. That chapter of our shared lives was closed peacefully and privately a long time ago."

He continued: "I only want the best for everyone and from the bottom of my heart I truly wish them a lifetime of peace and happiness," and concluded: "I ask respectfully to be removed from this narrative and for the fake accounts and posts to cease having any relevance. Thank you and God bless."

The "fabricated" post comes as the pair previously shared a whirlwind romance together with the actor getting down on one knee and asking Demi to marry him just four months after they first started dating. In 2020 Max proposed to the Heart Attack singer with a beautiful diamond ring in Malibu, California after they grew close quarantining together during the pandemic.

The Cool For the Summer singer enthusiastically accepted the proposal telling her fans that he was the perfect match for her and the kind of person that inspired her to be "the best version" of herself. As the singer seemed to be head-over-heels for her new fiancé fans were shocked to discover that they had called off their engagement just two months later.

When the pair first called off their relationship the decision appeared to be mutual but a source later revealed to People the alleged real reason behind their split. The insider claimed that Max's "intentions weren't genuine" and that the decision for them to break off their engagement was "not an easy decision."

Although it remains unclear the true reason behind their breakup, it's clear that Demi is in love once again and ready to tie the knot. Jordan recently shared an intimate and private proposal with the singer and asked her to marry him with a breathtaking custom-made pear-shape diamond. Demi revealed that the pair hit it off after working in the studio on songs together and they are now "super in love."
