Knowing those must have spring colours for perfectly polished pinkies is always a tough call. This week, in an effort to make life easier for you, we swatched our way through anything and everything to find the perfect spring colours.

Here are our four favourites:

Chanel - Black Pearl

Ladies looking to head to the dark side this spring may find that Chanel's latest edition is right up their street. Pearly grey with deep blue and green undertones the shade is hotly tipped to be for 2011 what Particularlie was for 2010. The formula is super light and the shade is the perfectly judged. If you can get your hands on a bottle, this is bold, shimmery and original.

Available from Chanel counters, priced at €21.

Estee Lauder: Violet Diva

Recently launched and as bright as a button, Estee Lauders Violet Diva will apeal to those on the hunt for more in the way of candy floss colouring. Created by Tom Peacheux as part of the new Pure Colour collection, Violet Diva comes complete with all the trappings you'd exppect from a Lauder polish including a fast drying, long wearing and chip resistant formula.

At €20 the price is a touch on the high side, but as it comes with a quality brush to reduce mop-ups and then dries to a glass like shine, we think we can allow them some indulgence when it comes to the price.

Available from Estee Lauder Counters, priced at €20.

Bourjois: So Laque in Rose Satin

With Black Swan inspired ballet chic set to take over everything in our wardrobes and beauty bags it's nice to know we can turn to Bourjois for help. So Laque in Rose Satin is pirouetteingly pink and will give a delicate finish providing you give yourself 'tu-tu' coats. Perfectly feminine, not too bright and the best bit of their brilliant SS11 Balarine collection, we think this ones a real keeper.

Available from Pharmacies nationwide, pried at €7.99.

Nails Inc: Fulham Palace Row

When it comes to mirroring catwalk trends Nails Inc have become the place to look of late. Fulham Palace Row is one of four new shades from the SS11 Cashmere collection and takes it's nude inspiration from the catwalks of Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney and Cavalli. Perfect for ladies on the hunt for a more natural nail colour, this iced coffee shade gives nails elegant coverage without ever falling into the trap of being over the top. Office friendly, catwalk clever and bang on trend - could this bottle be any better?

Available from Nails Inc, priced at €16.50.
