Hi guys, how do you think about Konig's wheels? I'm now thinking about to get a set of 15" Konig Helium for my 6 gen civic. Are they better quality the Rota?

I bent one of my heliums some time back, and I don't know when or how. Granted I was fairly slammed with 10k/6k springs but still.

Well...were you running auto cross or something? Most likely just daily driving for me, maybe some quicker down hill driving sometimes... No Track Racing or Auto Crossing... Some say the Rota and the Konig are not very good in quality (hardness), they will bend or brake somehow....so I'm just wondering.....

Any more comments?? Anyone?? Post up....post up....

Anyone who tells you Konig or Rota are bad quality is a **** and shouldn't be listened to. Sure, they are knockoffs and that may offend some people's sensibilities, but Rota makes many OEM wheels and Konig has a very good reputation among people who use their wheels much harder than you will (although they had problems awhile back, since resolved). You should have no problem whatsoever with Rota or Konig rims, I would purchase both brands without hesitation. As for people who show you bent rims, or have bent rims, I have bent Volks, SSRs and Advans in simple street driving, so nothing is infallible.

ha ha ha, you've bent a Volk rim? such a pain man....but thx for your comments....
Some of my friends are using Rota as well, haven't seen them bent yet.... hopefully I won't purchase a "easy bent" one....

Any more comments guys?....welcome to post it here....give me some more ideas.....

Still haven't figured out what happened lol.

As far as bending any wheel, I would disagree. I hit a curb straight on with gsr wheels at about 25mph and the wheel was still perfectly true (at least there were no visible signs, and the wheel still balanced just fine).

Obviously you can bend any wheel if you try hard enough, but imo oem > aftermarket.

That being said, konig/rota/etc make a good quality wheel. I just happen to have had a bad experience.

Wheels are a wear item IMO and should be regularly inspected and replaced at the first signs of any problem. Failures are inevitable with any product simply due to mistakes that happen in every company. The Volk I bent was due to my own stupidity in not going around a gigantic Michigan pothole with super low profile tires, not a defect in the rim but it illustrates the fact that anything can break.

It looks just the tire being damaged to me...the rim looks just fine still...only some scratches on it...but feel sad to your wheel man...

Ha, no. I'll show you a better picture. Think about it too, you can't really "bend" a tire

what isnt to figure out? you curbed/hit a pothole fairly hard. i can see the scrapes on the bottom of the sideskirts and also the patchs on your tire that made contact with said curb/pothole. pretty simple to me.
ps any rim can be bent or cracked i have personaly seen si wheels that where bent and a gsr rim that snapped at the spokes.

Ive worked in the industry for a some time now and all I can say is even the best of wheels bend or crack under certain conditions.

Obviously you should expect some sort of damage if you hit a curb going at a decent speed.

I am also using Konig Heliums and think that overall they are a steal of a deal. A great price for a light weight wheel. Works for me.

I have right now my oem wheels on right now with my GSR and one of my rims is warped. I think I remember how it happened, it was, yeah, a pothole. I am still able to drive on it, but it makes the tire balancer work real hard.
